Hello, said Loneliness.

“Hello…”, said the voice of loneliness,
“Hello…”, replied the voice of fear.
“I know”, pacified compassion,
and held its siblings near.

“I’m sad…”, cried the voice of loneliness,
“I’m mad!”, cried the voice of fear.
“It’s not that bad!”, soothed the voice of love,
“I hold you all so dear!”

“Okay”, said the voice of reason.
“No way!”, yelled the voice of fear.
“Oh, how I pray”, exclaimed impatience,
“for you to disappear!”

And then faith stepped in,
and the sun came out,
and the light crept in,
and shed all doubt.

And the voices hushed
in anticipation,
while Fear just blushed
in agitation.

And they gathered around and noted:
“Dear friend, you are outvoted.
We acknowledge you, you’re a team mate of ours.
But we won’t succumb to your tedious powers,
and we won’t allow you to backfire
on all the life, that we desire.”

“You keep us from truth and joy and fun,
and the magic that comes with the moon and the sun,
and the stars that sprinkle dust and dew,
so we don’t want to spend all this time with you.”

Loneliness sighed a sigh of relief,
and wiped away a tear of grief,
for nevertheless, Fear was its friend,
but some friendships need to come to an end.
